Our Vision

RWAs that move with the speed and transparency of crypto.

AkuaLabs is the foundation behind a compliance-first RWA stack — spanning agriculture and real estate — built for institutional workflows and ERC-3643 transfer rules.

Agriculture RWAs as programmable collateral

Receipt-backed assets where physical inventory becomes verifiable, auditable, and financeable — starting with Ghanaian cocoa.

Real estate RWAs with ERC-3643 compliance

Permissioned, compliance-aware real-estate assets with identity and transfer rules built in — designed for regulated market flows.

Institutional-grade settlement and auditability

End-to-end traceability, compliance controls, and programmable settlement across L3 intent and L2 settlement — built to plug into existing institutional workflows.

What We're Building

The foundation behind AkuaX and a compliance-first RWA stack.

AkuaLabs researches and builds the infrastructure that turns real assets into compliant, programmable markets — spanning agriculture and real estate with ERC-3643 at the core.

AkuaX Marketplace

Lab

Agriculture + real estate RWAs.

A compliance-first marketplace for RWAs — starting with receipt-backed agriculture flows and expanding into ERC-3643 real-estate assets — with L3 intent execution and L2 settlement.

  • Receipt-backed agriculture RWAs (cocoa pilot)
  • ERC-3643 real-estate RWA flows (identity + transfer rules)
  • RFQ, escrow, and settlement workflows end-to-end
  • Compliance-aware settlement and monitoring

L2 / L3 Infrastructure

Lab

Caldera Nitro + AnyTrust DA.

A Base-first stack with AkuaChain (L3) as a Caldera Nitro rollup using AnyTrust data availability — built to host RWA marketplaces and deal flows, routing intent to settlement on Base (Base Sepolia on testnet).

  • Base L2 liquidity and stablecoin rails
  • AkuaChain (L3): Caldera Nitro rollup + AnyTrust DA
  • AkuaX runs on AkuaChain for marketplace execution
  • Intent-to-settlement flows targeting Base Sepolia (L2)
  • Hooks for risk, identity, and compliance modules

AkuaLabs Foundation

Lab

Research + engineering that powers it all.

AkuaLabs is the research and engineering foundation behind AkuaX — combining protocol design, policy collaboration, and infrastructure R&D across agriculture and real estate RWAs.

  • Research + policy partnerships for regulated RWAs
  • AI-driven risk, liquidity, and credit analytics
  • Open standards, pilots, and institutional tooling

24-Month Roadmap

From pilots to RWA-native L3 and AI rails.

AkuaLabs is sequencing product, infra, and research so that RWAs across agriculture and real estate can plug into on-chain liquidity today — with AkuaX running on AkuaChain (L3) for intent, and settlement routed to L2.

  • Introduce programmable vaults plus ERC-3643/identity/compliance modules.
  • Build AI + data infra for risk, liquidity routing, and credit scoring.
  • Explore DGX SuperPOD / GPU infra in Ghana for on-shore AI research.
  • Become the go-to infra partner for governments, boards, and funds.

Built. Shipping. Piloting.

This is not a slide deck. It's a working pilot-ready system.

Contracts are deployed on Base Sepolia with a vertical slice already functioning: agriculture RWA issuance (warehouse receipts), tokenization, escrow funding, and settlement through AkuaX.

The AkuaX pilot includes contracts for CocoaTon, WarehouseReceiptRegistry, CommodityEscrow, ReserveManager, MessageEmitter, BalanceReader, and CommodityDTARequestManager, orchestrated through Chainlink CRE for workflow automation and monitoring.

The frontend supports buyer, seller, and warehouse personas to issue digital receipts, create deals, fund escrow, and trigger settlement and release — all wired directly to on-chain data.

AkuaLabs is the foundation behind these rails — moving from MVP into structured pilots and institutional conversations across agriculture and real estate RWAs, with Ghanaian cocoa as the first production track and ERC-3643 powering compliance-aware real-estate flows.

AkuaX by AkuaLabs — Current Status

AkuaChain (L3) executes intent (Caldera Nitro + AnyTrust DA), routing to L2 Base Sepolia for settlement — AkuaX runs on top as the RWA marketplace.

Strategic move

AkuaLabs is stepping into ERC-3643 RWAs across agriculture and real estate — a major leap toward compliant, institutional-grade on-chain markets.

AkuaLabs is the foundation behind AkuaX, expanding from pilots into the compliance-aware infrastructure needed for RWA marketplaces: L2 settlement + L3 intent execution for RWA marketplaces and on-chain real-asset contracts.

What's Working

Live

Intent layer (L3)

  • Post RFQ / Accept RFQ: working on AkuaChain (L3) — Caldera Nitro rollup
  • Marketplace UI: real-time RFQ feed (wallet connect, chain switching, explicit gas/fee estimation, maker/expiry validation)
  • Market registration: deterministic marketId registered on both L2 (AkuaMarketRegistryL2) and L3 (AkuaMarketRegistryL3)
  • Stack: AkuaChain (L3) is a Caldera Nitro rollup with AnyTrust data availability, routing intent to Base Sepolia (L2) for settlement
  • Asset focus: agriculture RWAs (receipts/inventory) + real-estate RWAs (ERC-3643)
  • Platform map: AkuaX (marketplace) runs on AkuaChain (L3)

Settlement layer (L2)

  • Marketplace settlement contracts: deployed on Base Sepolia (Marketplace v3)
  • Manual settlement scripts: available (approve-for-settlement, settle-rfq, check-settlement-status)

Admin portal (Next.js)

  • Admin UI: apps/admin (local dev default http://localhost:3001)
  • Auth + role gating: Supabase auth + admin roles (admin/ops/compliance_ops)
  • Profile UX: “linked wallet” vs “connected wallet” clarified in UI

Supabase indexing

  • Edge Functions: ingest_l3_events (L3 RFQ events) and ingest_l2_events (L2 settlement events)
  • Schema: markets, rfqs, rfq_actions, settlements, ingestion_cursors + admin tables (incidents, audit_logs, profiles, etc.)
  • RLS helper recursion fix: applied via migration 20260119000002_fix_rls_helper_recursion.sql (prevents Postgres stack-depth recursion on profiles policies)

What's Still Gated

By design

ERC-3643 compliance requirements

AkuaX supports ERC-3643 compliant RWAs across agriculture and real estate. Before transfers (including settlement), addresses typically must:

  • be registered in IdentityRegistry
  • have issuer/claim setup through the registries
  • pass ComplianceModule.canTransfer(...)

Typical settlement blockers

  • Missing token balances (maker doesn’t have the ERC-3643 RWA token / taker doesn’t have USDC)
  • Missing allowances (maker/taker hasn’t approved the settlement router)
  • Compliance failures (identity not registered/verified, lockup/freeze, missing claims)

Next Steps

Short-term

  • Add a simple admin “make user admin” / “set role” workflow (Supabase profiles.role)
  • Add a settlement button in UI (after approvals) or a small relayer service
  • Add cron/scheduler for ingestion (see docs/deployments/SUPABASE_OPERATIONS.md)

Production

  • Full KYC/issuer flows + operational agent tooling
  • Automated L3→L2 settlement (relayer + signatures) and monitoring/alerting

For Governments, Banks & Foundations

Structured pilots, policy collaboration, and institutional rails.

AkuaLabs works with commodity boards, government agencies, and regulated institutions to design pilots that are technically sound, policy-aware, and impact-driven.

Digitize real supply

Turn paper warehouse receipts and silo inventory into structured, on-chain collateral that can be monitored, audited, and financed.

Transparent, auditable collateral

Give regulators, central banks, and funds line-of-sight into the assets backing commodity-linked exposures and credit.

Access global liquidity over time

Bridge local commodity flows into Base L2 DeFi and stablecoin rails for hedging, credit enhancement, and impact capital.

Institutional Tech

Digital Transfer Agent (DTA) for Institutions

Akua runs an institutional-grade Digital Transfer Agent that orchestrates the full lifecycle of tokenized commodity subscriptions and redemptions. From initial request to automated settlement, the DTA provides compliance-aware flows, institutional controls, and complete on-chain auditability — while remaining API-first so it can plug into existing compliance and government reporting systems.

Scalable request lifecycle: subscription/redemption → pricing → compliance → settlement
API-first compliance adapters for existing KYC/AML + sanctions + risk engines
Institutional & government-grade reporting hooks (audit trails, attestations, regulator visibility)
Plugs into existing treasury, ERP, and custody workflows without replacing core systems

Backed by deployed smart contracts and Chainlink CRE orchestration across AkuaChain (L3) and Base L2.

We work with commodity boards, government agencies, development banks, impact funds, and large cooperatives to design fit-for-purpose market rails.

Non-profit and foundation structures help separate research, education, and policy work from commercial deployments.

For Builders & Protocol Teams

Plug real-world commodity flows into your protocol.

AkuaLabs is opening up standards and test environments so DeFi teams, infrastructure providers, and builders can integrate commodity-backed assets natively.

Standards & reference frontends

Access smart contract interfaces, reference UIs, and example flows for integrating commodities into lending markets, structured products, and on-chain treasuries.

  • Commodity token and escrow standards
  • Testnet deployments and CRE workflows
  • Reference frontends for buyer / seller / warehouse

Early builder cohorts

We're curating an early group of builders who want to ship real-world asset use cases with settlement on Base L2 and intent execution on AkuaChain (L3) — from collateralized lending to hedging products.

You bring protocol expertise; we bring commodity rails, data, and policy context.

Global Reach, Starting in Ghana

Starting with Ghanaian cocoa, expanding to South American coffee, soybeans, and beyond.

Ghana is one of the world's leading cocoa exporters and is deeply exposed to commodity price swings, FX constraints, and opaque middleman structures. Farmers and cooperatives carry this volatility while remaining far from global liquidity.

AkuaLabs is building infrastructure that improves pricing power for producers, reduces fraud and double-pledging of receipts, and makes collateral legible to both local and global capital.

The same rails that work for Ghanaian cocoa are designed to extend globally — with South America (coffee, soybeans, beef, sugar) in our near-term roadmap and a framework that adapts to local governance and regulatory contexts across any geography.
